Dr. Luis Fernando Pacheco Otálora
A Ph.D. in Biochemistry focused on Neuroscience from the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, and originally trained in Biology at Universidad Ricardo Palma, Peru. He is currently the Principal Investigator at the Neuroscience Research Laboratory, Scientific Institute of the Universidad Andina del Cusco, working within the research lines of Neuronal and Synaptic Plasticity, Neural Circuits, and Neurodegenerative Diseases and Epilepsy. His research focuses on hippocampal neuronal and synaptic plasticity, as well as the search for new therapeutic targets for the treatment of Epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.
